Gregory and the Hawk

Gregory and the Hawk é o pseudónimo usado por Meredith Godreau, cantora e compositora Norte americana. Godreau mudou-se para Nova York quando tinha doze anos e foi lá onde ela aprendeu uma série de instrumentos, incluindo piano, clarinete, oboé, violino, viola e guitarra. Na ativa desde 2003, Godreau ganhou bastante popularidade dentro de um pequeno círculo, gozando de um independente sucesso com seus EPs, que reforçaram a sua crescente reputação. "In Your Dreams", foi o primeiro álbum completo, foi lançado no em 2007 e recebeu muitos comentários positivos. Em 2008 lançou "Moenie & Kitchi" que foi produzido por Adam Pierce, (este foi lançado apenas no Reino Unido pela etiqueta FatCat Records). A banda é composta por Mike McGuire (guitarra e rhodes), Adam Christgau (tambores), Doro Tachler (violino e baixo) e naturalmente, Meredith Godreau (voz e violão).Godreau cita como influência: Nick Drake, Liz Phair e PJ Harvey. Gregory and the Hawk é indie, com uma forte predominância da música folk e rock alternativo. Encantador; recomendado para quem tem vontade de redescobrir a música folk em um curso mais sensível e doce.

My Brightest Diamond

My Brightest Diamond é um projeto da cantora, compositora e multi instrumentista Shara Worden. Shara trabalhou como Sufjan Stevens como integrante do grupo Illinoismakers. O primeiro álbum da banda foi o “Bring me the Workhorse” de 2006. Atualmente, Shara está em turnê do segundo álbum do grupo chamado “A Thousand Sharks’s Teeth” o qual foi lançado mundialmente e dia 17-06-2008. Shara Worden nos embala com a sua voz melodiosa e nos estremesse com as seus gritos e sussuros (Similar a Shannon Wright, PJ Harvey, Nicole Atkins, Cat Power, Sarah Birmingham, etc). Excelente trabalho, musicalmente inovadora.

The Submarines

The Submarines é uma banda indie-pop de Los Angeles. Como artistas solo em Boston, os dois membros da banda, John Dragonetti e Blake Hazard, foram apresentados por um amigo em comum. John e Blake logo se apaixonaram e fizeram uma turnê pela Europa juntos. O relacionamento dos dois durou quatro anos. Terminou no Outono de 2004. Depois da separação, ambos continuaram a compor e como Blake ainda gravava suas músicas no estúdio que John tinha em casa, os dois logo perceberam que as músicas que escreviam eram sobre o outro e a tristeza da separação. Diante disso a dupla resolveu trabalhar algumas músicas e logo reataram o relacionamento. Declare a New State, o primeiro álbum da banda, é fruto dessas sessões de gravação. O álbum foi masterizado por um amigo como presente de casamento e lançado em 2006. Indie pop do bom para "animar" as tardes de outono. Very cute! *-*

Doves

Doves é uma banda de indie rock de Manchester, formada no ano de 1998. A banda é composta pelos irmãos Jezz Williams (guitarra, vocais) e Andy Williams (bateria, vocais), Jimi Goodwin (baixo, vocais, guitarra) e Rebelski Martin Roman (teclados). Com mais de dez anos de existência e 4 álbuns, a banda ainda é pouco conhecida dentro do universo mainstream mundial. Graham Coxon

Graham Coxon (nascido Graham Leslie Coxon em 12 de Março de 1969, Alemanha) é conhecido como o ex-guitarrista na banda inglesa Blur. Ele participou dos primeiros seis álbuns da banda, incluindo o famoso disco de 1994, Parklife; Coxon deixou a banda em 2002 embarcando definitivamente em uma carreira solo (que já havia sido iniciada quatro anos antes).Coxon toca em seus discos vários instrumentos, como guitarra, bateria e saxofone. Ao longo de uma trajetória bem sucedida no Blur, Coxon era o carismático guitarrista tímido e nerd, satisfeito a ficar de canto sem aparecer muito. Em 2004 surge o primeiro álbum de Coxon efetivamente como um artista solo, “Hapiness In Magazines”. Desta vez, o enfoque foi diferente, a idéia de produção caseira foi deixada de lado, assim como parte dos experimentalismos, tornando o som mais acessível. O disco repercutiu muito bem nas paradas, puxado principalmente pelos singles “Freak Me Out” e “Bittersweet Bundle of Misery”. Com sua primeira turnê solo, Coxon tocou nos grandes festivais ingleses e em 2005 foi escolhido como melhor artista solo do ano pela NME. Após sua saída do Blur, Coxon pôde retomar também a sua vertente de artista plástico, já que seus únicos trabalhos a atingir o público foram as pinturas usadas nas capas de todos os seus álbuns solo e no álbum "13" do Blur. Coxon, mesmo depois da anunciação da volta do Blur (a banda deve voltar aos estúdios para gravar um disco de inéditas este ano), o músico continuou comprometido com seu novo trabalho o álbum "The Spinning Top" lançado dia 11 de maio; o músico caprichou no album e como de praxe - a capa também foi desenhada pelas mãos do próprio músico.
